    Preventive fire protection
The "Preventive fire protection" service provided by the fire protection department advises you on fire protection issues during construction planning.

The experts from the Beckum fire brigade can always be consulted if, for example, concerns regarding fire protection arise during the course of construction planning or generally in the case of properties with special uses, such as high-rise buildings, commercial buildings, restaurants, office buildings, hospitals, care homes, schools, sports facilities and industrial buildings in which a large number of people are at risk in the event of a fire.
For such building projects, the fire officers of the preventive fire protection department have special requirements that must be observed when the building permit is issued by the building regulations office of the city of Beckum. The fire officers
ensure that fires are prevented or that people can escape or be rescued safely in the event of a fire in order to protect the health, lives and property of the owners, users and visitors.

They also ensure that fires can be reported immediately by smoke detectors and fire alarm systems in special properties and that the fire brigade can extinguish fires quickly and safely because extinguishing water and attack routes for firefighting are ensured.
A special area of responsibility is fire inspection, i.e. the regular inspection of buildings that are particularly at risk of fire or explosion due to their nature, type or use, or where many people could be at risk in the event of a fire.

In the case of special properties, operators and employees are shown the specific fire hazards in training courses and given tips on damage prevention and self-help, such as firefighting with fire extinguishers.
