Half-time for city cycling

10 days after the start of this year's city cycling event, Beckum is once again showing its sporty side: since 10 May, 634 active cyclists in 76 teams have already covered almost 50,000 kilometres - and saved around 8 tonnes of CO₂ in the process.

This is a strong interim result that impressively emphasises the commitment of all participants. Whether school class, club group, college or lone fighter: Beckum residents are pedalling with commitment and joy. The campaign runs until 30 May. Anyone who still wants to contribute kilometres or register can easily do so at www.stadtradeln.de/beckum or in the Stadtradeln app. Kilometres can even be added up to one week after the end of the campaign.

There are great prizes to be won again this year. All participants who have cracked the 10 kilometre mark will be drawn independently. The Beckum team of sponsors, consisting of Sparkasse Münsterland Ost, Energieversorgung Beckum, Elektro Pelkmann Euronics, Beckumer Fahrradlager and Stadtmarketing Beckum, will be providing bike bags, repair kits, bike inspection vouchers, city vouchers and much more.

The coordination team of the city of Beckum - cycling officer Denise Grünebaum and climate protection manager Max Hegemann - is delighted with the progress so far and is once again calling for cyclists to join in at the second half of the event: "Every kilometre counts - for health, climate protection and a Beckum worth living in!"
