Lecture series
Dangers from AI and the internet
This year, the focus will be on the dangers of artificial intelligence and online platforms. Parents and professional carers should make a note of these dates:

The series starts on 11 September with a lecture by Frank Schlegel on artificial intelligence. In his talk entitled "What ChatGPT can really do - and what it can't", the media consultant will shed light on the possibilities of AI and what lies behind chatbots and ChatGPT. After all, AI has long since arrived in our classrooms, says Schlegel. A lecture to think, talk and participate in.
The world of generative AI" will also be the subject of Frank Schlegel's talk on 9 October. The speaker will explore the question of what artificial intelligence can already create today. However, as fascinating as the new possibilities are, they also raise many questions: How can we distinguish man-made media from AI content (deepfakes)? Don't all these programmes require vast amounts of electricity - and this in times of climate crisis? Where is the human being?

Ninwe Shamoun, responsible for prevention work at the Warendorf Criminal Investigation Department, will be demonstrating the dangers of the digital world for children and young people on 13 November under the title "Crime Scene Internet" . What is allowed on the internet and what is not? In an increasingly digital world, children and young people use smartphones, social networks and online platforms at an early age without being fully aware of the risks. Parents are also often unaware of the dangers this poses for their children. The aim of the lecture evening is to inform and sensitise parents and educational professionals.
