Citizens' office now also an emergency island

The Beckum citizens' office and the registry office are now signalling with the emergency island sticker: "Where we are, you are safe" and are there to help children in distress.

Beckum Town Hall has thus joined the ranks of over 25 Beckum businesses that are already emergency islands. Shops and facilities with the "Notinsel" sticker offer children refuge if they need support while travelling. The Neubeckum Leisure Centre and the Alte E-Werk - both municipal facilities - are also already emergency islands.

The German Child Protection Foundation's Hansel + Gretel project also aims to create a broad awareness of children and encourage people to look and act.

The sign can be found in around 17,000 shops at 230 locations throughout Germany.
