Noise Action Plan Level 3
The implementation of noise action plans is based on the European Union's Environmental Noise Directive, which was transposed into German law in 2005. According to the directive, road traffic, rail traffic and air traffic noise as well as noise emanating from industrial and commercial installations are recorded and assessed. In North Rhine-Westphalia, the preparation of noise action plans was passed on to the municipalities as a mandatory task. The process, which began in 2007, has so far taken place in 3 stages. In a noise action plan, noise is mapped, pollution hotspots are identified and possible measures are documented.
The Noise Action Plan Level 3 (LAP 3) of the City of Beckum came into force by resolution of the Council on 25.03.2021.
