New reporting app offers more convenience

The Meldoo app enables direct communication with the city of Beckum's departments and shortens internal channels. The notifiers are informed about the progress in the app. All reports are summarised on an overview map.

"The ideas and complaints management system has proved its worth, and now we want to significantly improve communication once again with the new app," explained Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich.

"Of course, the departments can still be contacted by email and telephone, but the app is an additional but very popular communication channel," adds Laura Karrengarn, who is responsible for ideas and complaints management. With the new app, the switch from one-way to two-way communication via app is a success.

And this is how it works: register, take a photo, record the location and select one of 12 damage categories. Whether it's dumped rubbish, a faulty street lamp or a pothole: the reports are sent directly to the responsible employees.

The app thus fulfils the Smart City concept. For the city of Beckum, smart means being liveable, sustainable and efficient and providing further user-friendly communication services with the help of digital solutions.
